OUTREACH PROGRAMME TO RUMAH ANAK-ANAK YATIM SHIFA'
JANUARY 19, 2008 (SATURDAY)
Introduction:
As part of the Young CPA Group Activities identified for 2008,
and the Group's commitment towards Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR), an Outreach Programme to Rumah Anak-Anak Yatim Shifa'
was organised on Saturday, January 19, 2008 between 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.
The aim is also to spend some quality time with the children.
The home was established on February 18, 2006 and is run by
Pn Hjh Che Tom and is an all girls Muslim orphanage with only 14
children whose age range between 13 - 17 years and who have been abused,
neglected or abandoned by their families, parents and guardians.
The visit was participated by En Abdul Halim, En Ahmad Shahrul,
En Mohd Akram, En Hakim Hamzah, En Mohd Sukri, Mr Tang Loon Khhon
and 5 MICPA Staff.
Bearing in mind that the children are very passive and shy,
2 simple activities were organised for them, which generated
some kind of fun for them. The children also entertained the
guests present.
It was also brought to our attention that it was one of the
girls birthday on Friday, January 18, 2008. As such, a cake
was brought along to "celebrate" Norlina's belated birthday.
Sponsorships in Cash & Kind:
- MICPA contributed RM200.00 towards the activity which was used to purchase the KFC meal for lunch
- Mr Chong Kian Soon, a Young CPA Member who was unable to attend the function contributed cash
- Mr Tang Loon Khoon, a member of MICPA, who was present, also contributed a cheque to the Home
- Staff of MICPA also contributed towards the running of the activity both in cash and in kind
